Gereja Dalam Menghadapi Fenomena Korean Wave Terhadap Perkembangan Gaya Hidup Generasi Z

Abstract


Gen-Z’s reactions to the spread of Korean culture range from admiration and awe to addiction, a desire to belong, and loyalty. The parents became concerned and hoped that the church leadership would have the fortitude to take action to address this condition. The author applied situational leadership theory by Hersey and Blanchard in conjunction with a case study research method. The author also collected information through 360-person surveys, interviews with five parents, and literature reviews. The findings of this study also showed that church leaders can use the situational leadership model to deal with cultural disruptions among Gen-Z. Situational leadership can be practiced in four basic styles: directing, coaching, participating, and delegating. However, to achieve effective results, the application of this leadership model must also be supported by the level of maturity of parents and Gen-Z.

Abstrak

Gen-Z memiliki berbagai ekspresi dalam merespons penyebaran budaya Korea, mulai dari rasa suka dan kagum, candu, ingin memiliki, hingga loyalitas. Para orang tua pun mulai merasa khawatir dan berharap pimpinan gereja berani mengambil tindakan untuk menghadapi kondisi tersebut. Penulis menggunakan teori kepemimpinan situasional dari Hersey dan Blanchard dengan metode penelitian studi kasus. Penulis pun mengumpulkan data dengan menggunakan metode survei terhadap 360 responden, wawancara dengan lima orang tua, dan studi literatur. Hasil penelitian ini pun menunjukkan bahwa model kepemimpinan situasional dapat diterapkan oleh para pemimpin gereja dalam menghadapi disrupsi budaya di tengah Gen-Z. Ada empat gaya dasar kepemimpinan situasional yang dapat dipraktikkan, antara lain directing, coaching, participating, dan delegating. Namun, praktik model kepemimpinan tersebut harus disesuaikan pula dengan tingkat kematangan para orang tua dan Gen-Z agar mencapai hasil yang efektif.
