Teologi Publik dan Pendidikan Agama Kristen K-12 di Indonesia: Suatu Eksplorasi Awal

Abstract
Religion’s role is emerging in Indonesian public life today while public theology is discussed more in academic discussions in Indonesia. Hence, this article discusses the conversation between public theology and religious study, especially in a primary and secondary education context, where the dialogue between them rarely happens. Also, the urgency of this article is the phenomenon that theology is one of the aspects that influences the Indonesian public space. Hence, religious education must embrace public theology. The result of the research is three perspectives regarding the impact of public theology on primary and secondary education, the purpose of education, and also the imagination of a teacher. Based on public theology, a school is a space for the dissemination of knowledge for the vision of the common good. Then, the purpose of the education itself is to bring the students to understand public issues and can contribute something to the issue. Lastly, a teacher is a public intellectual that can bring his student to know the world. Hence, with these results, religious education also can be more explicitly involved in the issues of the public.
Abstrak
Belakangan ini, terlihat bahwa peranan agama semakin santer di ruang publik Indonesia. Peranan agama yang semakin santer beriringan dengan pembahasan mengenai teologi publik di ruang akademik Indonesia. Lantas, tulisan ini adalah suatu inisiasi untuk mengaitkan teologi publik dengan Pendidikan Agama Kristen yang mana keterkaitan antara keduanya jarang dibahas. Selain itu, urgensi dari tulisan ini adalah suatu fenomena bahwa teologi pun merupakan salah aspek yang memengaruhi masyarakat Indonesia. Dengan demikian, Pendidikan Agama Kristen pun perlu untuk memeluk isu ini. Kajian ini akan dibangun berdasarkan studi interdisiplin PAK dan juga teologi publik. Hasil akhir dari tulisan ini adalah tiga perspektif mengenai teologi publik terhadap sekolah, tujuan pendidikan dan juga imajinasi guru. Berdasarkan teologi publik, sekolah adalah ruang diseminasi pengetahuan mengenai visi kemaslatan bersama. Lalu, tujuan pendidikan Kristen sendiri adalah untuk membawa peserta didik mengerti isu-isu publik dan dapat melakukan sesuatu di dalamnya. Terakhir, guru adalah seorang intelektual publik yang dapat membawa siswanya mengenal dunia. Kesimpulannya adalah bagaimana PAK pun dapat berbagian dalam perkembangan di ruang publik Indonesia lewat teologi publik.
